Quite the slew of 6+ quakes in the last few days. There have been 6.x quakes at Japan, P.N.G., Vanuatu and Fiji. Now all these have in common is a few thousand miles of closeness (so really nothing in common) and there is no discernible pattern in them except there have been quite a few quakes under volcanoes and a few volcanoes are being active.
With new activity in 2 volcanoes in Vanuatu on the New Hebrides arc, P.N.G. and quakes in Chile, Italy and Iceland all eventually producing volcanic activity the future seems to indicate more volcanic activity in the world. Not like we need the added green house gasses any time soon.
