PNG has surprised us with a series of earthquakes over the last 24 hours. A 6.2 quake, followed by a 5.2 and to 4+ quakes on both sides of Mount Hagen. The faults here are mainly on the north side of the island but this is a subduction zone that extends under the island to the south. Now the direct north south line of the 4 quakes is interesting but this is a complex fault system and the four quakes are not on the same fault line.
Looks like another place to look at some history although not tonight as we are having smoke issues from the forest fires in Minnesota.
