Well a little action today but a 6? Not good enough. Yes that 6 is interesting, a crust depth quake in the foothills in Argentina. The story there is that the andies are still building and this is a sign that pressure is building in that area. As the pressure builds the mountains grow higher and the expectation of a large quake on the pacific coast is increasing.
In other parts of thew world we have a couple of quakes in the mid Atlantic ridge. That is of course the driver of so much of the tectonic activity that the Atlantic ocean is growing wider and pushing north and south america against the pacific plate. The other story is that there was a 36 hour period with no 5+ quakes.
