I what has been an uneventful day there was one interesting quake in Virginia. This looks like an aftershock of the larger quake that happened there in August. There have been quite a few aftershocks that have been generally decreasing as expected.
We can tell you that the thought of there being much damage to the nuclear plant there has proven to be false and everything is just fine. Despite all of the fear and worry it would appear that nuclear plants are not made to fall apart at the smallest problem and they are as safe as any other human engineering, safer actually than most.
Other than that our count goes up again. Hmm, wonder where the next big quake will be? Japan, New Zealand, Cascadia or somewhere totally different. My guess, the fault system that includes Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu. I’,m starting to think 7.5 or higher and if we are lucky it will be out to sea and be an 8 with a small tsunami that does no damage. I can wish can’t I?
