Volcano eruptions are on-going on the Fuego volcano today. The eruptions include lava and explosions as well as ash clouds and pyroclastic flows. Many people, estimated by some to be as many as 33000, have been evacuated so far.
Video of the flows is available at the volcanodiscovery.com site.
The eruption started with activity as far back as May of this year but the major activity started earlier this week with the ash eruptions prompting evacuations starting Sept 12th. This is being called the largest eruption on the volcano since 1999 but officials are hoping that the eruption will calm down as soon as Saturday and allow people to return home from the evacuation centers set up for them.
